Classic Cherry — Original Restaurant Table Tops
Cherry that gets better with light
Classic Line Cherry tabletops are crafted from 100% solid American cherry and celebrated for a tight, even grain that starts warm and elegant—honey to light amber—with subtle figure. From day one they’re beautiful, and then they mellow: under normal restaurant lighting, cherry develops a richer patina as light and oxygen do their work, much like fine heirloom furniture. Areas that see more daylight deepen first; shaded spots catch up with regular use and exposure. For real-world context and color under different lighting, browse our installed projects.
Built for service, finished for clarity
We start with kiln-dried, quarter-sawn boards for stability and a refined surface, then hand-sand and seal every side with a durable commercial finish in a low-sheen matte. The system includes UV inhibitors to slow color change while preserving the clarity that lets cherry’s character show through—it won’t (and shouldn’t) stop the natural patina. If you’re comparing restaurant tabletops across species and styles, begin at the tabletops hub, and if you want the nuts and bolts of glue-ups, surfacing, and QC, see our build process.
Planning for patina in your restaurant table design
Treat the patina as a feature. During the first few months, rotate table tents or centerpieces so any early “tan lines” blend quickly; the tone evens out with exposure and normal service. The low-glare matte top-coat keeps daily care simple while maintaining a premium look among wood restaurant table tops.
Dial the tone within Classic Cherry
Love the grain but want a different vibe? Stay in the same Classic Line build and shift color in the family—lean moodier with Classic Cherry — Merlot or add deeper warmth with Classic Cherry — Pecan. Each option preserves cherry’s hallmark elegance while tuning the palette to your brand.
