JI Bases advises against using Bolt Down Table Bases larger than 36 by 42 inches. When one person sits at the end of the table or two people sit along one side, using the table as support, this size limit ensures limited torque on floor bolts. If this size is exceeded, the bolts may experience excessive torque. Extra bases should be used for longer tops; one base for every 42 inches of extra length is a good rule of thumb. Keep in mind that floor attaching hardware is not provided by JI Bases, and installation choices are based on the kind and state of the floor.
