Classic Cherry — Distressed Restaurant Table Tops
Hand-aged character, refined surface
Classic Cherry takes to distressing beautifully: subtle age marks interrupt the straight, even grain so the surface feels lived-in from day one—never gimmicky. Our artisans apply small, intentional character touches and tone work that draw the eye to cherry’s warm field (honey through soft brown), creating restaurant tabletops that feel welcoming and upscale in equal measure.
Built for service, finished for clarity
We start with kiln-dried, quarter-sawn boards for stability and a calm, linear read, then sand the surface smooth (sanitation-friendly) before sealing all sides with a durable commercial finish in low-sheen matte. Cherry will continue to mellow under light—distressing simply adds friendly texture to that natural patina. For a quick look at tone and sheen in real spaces, browse the project gallery; if you’re comparing options side by side, begin at our tabletops hub, and for glue-ups, surfacing, and QC, see our build process.
Plan for patina in your restaurant table design
Cherry deepens with UV and oxygen; during the first months, rotate table tents or centerpieces so any lighter areas blend quickly. The matte top-coat keeps maintenance simple while preserving grain clarity in these wood restaurant table tops, so the surface reads premium in daily service.
