Distressed Restaurant Tabletops are hand textured using a variety of tools and techniques, then stained and sanded to capture the charm that can only come from years of use.
We assemble our Distressed Restaurant Tabletops with staves 1.5 to 2 inches wide, each cut from quarter-sawn stock. We pay slightly more for this process because it guarantees smoother surfaces and prevents warping and twisting, so you can have tables that endure. The full plank ends cleanly showcase the exquisite wood grain in a way that contrasts the long straight lines of the surface.
These tables have exceptionally solid construction just like all of our wood products, but there is something special about this product line. They say every scar tells a story, and our Distressed Restaurant Tables have a lot to say.
Many woodworkers spend hours removing scratches and marks from wood surfaces. We start with new wood staves and do just the opposite. We use a proprietary process to impart a touch of rugged charm to our wood, using various methods to add visual elements to smooth surfaces. A small ding here, a light gouge or scratch there, it all comes together to deliver the appearance of gently used yet lovingly maintained Rustic Restaurant Wood Tabletops. You may not be able to find “new antiques,” but that doesn’t mean you can’t have that look.
Once assembled, our Distressed Restaurant Tabletops are sanded just enough to be smooth and promote easy cleaning and maintenance, yet not so much as to compromise their signature character markings. The tabletop edges and corners are hand-scraped to match the ruggedness of the surface. Finally, each Distressed Restaurant Tabletop is sealed and finished with multiple coats of our acrylic polyurethane in a matte sheen to ensure durability and ease of maintenance. Our tried and proven finish is an industry leader in both wear and heat resistance.
The finished product of our engineered aging makes the Rustic line-up a long-standing favorite for restaurant owners and interior designers alike. With five species options including Cherry, Maple, Walnut, Pine, and Reclaimed Oak, we can accent any space with tables featuring a storied past.
The restaurant tabletop products we create are made entirely of solid wood. Color variations, knots and a mixture of wood grain patterns are not only to be expected, they are the natural elements that make each of our wood offerings so beautifully different.
